Since its launch, many games have been given the Steam Deck’s verified tag, including recent Steam releases such as Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It will be interesting to see just how many more blockbuster titles will be given the green light of approval on the Deck. Action games work wonderfully well on the handheld PC, and here are the best verified action titles to play on the Steam Deck right now.

8 Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered

When Marvel’s Spider-Man was initially released on the PS4 back in September 2018, gamers were blown away by the outstanding graphics and superb gameplay. A couple of years later, a remastered version of the hit Spider-Man game was brought out on Sony’s shiny new PS5 alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

The game was released on Steam in August 2022 and was instantly verified on the Steam Deck. Being able to play a game of this caliber on the go is nothing short of remarkable, and Spider-Man Remastered works incredibly well on Valve’s handheld console.

7 Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is the latest PS5 exclusive to be brought to PC. More and more Sony titles are rumored for a Steam release, with The Last of Us Part 1 set to be coming soon. Just like Spider-Man Remastered, Miles Morales works superbly well as a verified title on the Deck.

Despite having a short story, Spider-Man: Miles Morales received excellent reviews as a launch game for the PS5, with the graphics in particular getting immense praise. Steam Deck owners will be pleased to know that due to the Deck’s small screen, Miles Morales looks just as good and is a joy to play on the Deck.

6 Elden Ring

Elden Ring is a very popular action role-playing game, which has received rave reviews since releasing in February 2022. The game is a beast and plays extremely well on PS5 and Xbox Series X, as you would expect, but the verified Steam Deck version works remarkably well, too.

Players have to dial down the graphics and frame rate to get a better and smoother experience, but Elden Ring is certainly playable on the Steam Deck. Seeing a game like this run so well on Valve’s machine has the Steam Deck’s future looking very bright.

5 God Of War

God of War, which was originally released on PS4 in 2018, is highly regarded as one of the best video game releases of all time. The game came to Steam in early 2022 and was given Valve’s green tick of approval.

Playing as Kratos on a modern God of War title natively on a handheld device is an incredible experience, and Sony Interactive Entertainment’s title is a joy to behold on the Deck. Owners of the system just have to try out this God of War masterpiece portably.

4 Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection

Sony have struck up quite the partnership with Steam, with the newly released Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection another Sony title to be verified on the Steam Deck. This is the first handheld Uncharted experience since Uncharted: Golden Abyss, which came out alongside the release of the PS Vita over ten years ago.

Players might not get the 4K treatment or the ability to play this fast-paced action title at 120fps, but playing this latest version of Uncharted on the go is a must for fans of the franchise. The collection includes Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, two outstanding Naughty Dog games.

3 Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Collection

Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Collection is another Sony title that works well on the Steam Deck. Players have had their issues with this one since its release, but when it does work well, playing Horizon Zero Dawn on the Deck is quite an experience.

Players will have to tinker with the settings to get the right balance between gameplay and graphics but locking it to 30fps seems to be the way to go with this one. Nevertheless, having Horizon Zero Dawn on a handheld device is a dream come true for many fans of the franchise.

2 Doom Eternal

For some, Doom Eternal is an out-an-out shooter, but there are certainly action elements in Bethesda Softworks’ blockbuster title. Doom Eternal has been released on a whole host of platforms, including the Switch. However, the Steam Deck version could well be the best way to play this title.

Players can get good graphics and 60fps performance on Doom Eternal on the Deck, which just adds to the experience. This is a match made in heaven for Doom fans and Steam Deck owners.

1 Days Gone

Days Gone is another former PlayStation exclusive that works superbly well on the Steam Deck. When this first released on the PS4 back in 2019, the zombie game was greeted with mixed emotions. However, Days Gone was a far more polished game by the time it came to PC in May 2021. A year later, this Bend Studio action-adventure game was added to the Deck’s verified list.

Getting smooth 60fps gameplay from this title may be a step too far, but taking advantage of the Deck’s 40fps option will give the player a greater experience. The developers have done a brilliant job with this PC release, and Days Gone works just fine on the Steam Deck.
