One of the best aspect of the game is the combat and how fluid it can be for players, regardless of what build they create. They’re a lot of things than can make the combat much better, from the cyberwares, to the clothing mods, these things enhance the combat and make it much better. However, what plays a major role in the combat, meaning how the weapons act, is the weapon mods. Mods can make a bad gun better depending on what the players pick, and can make an excellent gun insanely good, so players should spend time looking for weapon mods. With Cyberpunk 2077 coming back and with patch 1.5 balancing many aspects of the game including these weapon mods, players should check out these mods that fully utilize the patch.

Updated July 1, 2022 by Raza Malik: Cyberpunk 2077’s state and growth have been consistent over the last few months. Post patch 1.5, the open-world RPG game has become what it was initially supposed to be. And players have welcomed that with open arms. Since Cyberpunk 2077 has taken a new life post-launch, it’s always changing, and one of the elements that change is the weapon mods. However, many mods in this list haven’t changed drastically since the last update, with the only exception being that they are more common and that vendors reset more frequently now.

Allowing players a higher chance of getting these mods. Even though many of the stronger mods remained the same, CD Projekt has been reworking the lesser-known ones to be used more. This opens up Cyberpunk 2077 to be played in even more ways and allows players to be more creative in how they fight.

10 Countermass

Since Cyberpunk 2077 has a very versatile combat system, which makes the game even better, the weapons should complement it. The Countermass mod makes gunplay very easy since it impacts the vertical recoil of the weapon. However, this mod works best when players play more aggressively and put it on the weapon that has effect damage. Once players do that, every shot has a higher chance to hit, and if the weapon has an elemental effect to it, then enemies will go down faster.

It’s a great way to make a sub-par weapon useable because of the shots hitting more often. Additionally, if players equip it with the shotguns featured in Cyberpunk 2077, then those weapons become a threat. On top of hitting enemies more often, players will see the true potential of the shotguns in terms of how much power they have. The best part about this mod is that it’s a good all-around one. Meaning players can equip this mod with weapons that have good and bad handling. Because it can make great guns even better, and not-so-good-guns hold their own.

9 Phantom

When players are in a heated firefight and aren’t able to fire back as fast as the enemy, it can make things harder since players will be shooting less due to the low fire rate on many weapons at the start. While leveling up the shooting aspect of the tree helps out, the Phantom mod makes it way better and shoots out faster while doubling the fire rate. It helps to be able to get rid of enemies faster because of how much damage the player can take at one time.

This mod works well with shotguns particularly because they have lower fire rate, but high damage output. With this mod, players can still have the damage as well as have a quick fire rate which will make fighting in Cyberpunk 2077 a lot easier. Shotguns are quite powerful and very versatile in Cyberpunk 2077, so it makes sense putting on a slower weapon. Although, players should note with a higher fire rate comes more reloading time, so as long as players understand that they’ll be doing more reloading due to players burning through ammo. It does have a downside, but it’s much more manageable.

8 Weaken

This mod is great for players who want to stay engaged in firefights longer and keep downing enemies quicker. While this mod has limits, players who utilize it will see how much stronger it makes them. As they fight with this mod on, any enemy they hit will have their damage reduced for ten seconds. Now, ten seconds may seem like not a lot of time, but when put this on a rather strong weapon, mowing down enemies becomes easy.

The best part is that players can hit multiple enemies at once, since the mod drops their damage by 20 percent, players can take less damage from multiple sources. It just helps give players breathing room, knowing that the enemy isn’t strong anymore. This gives players a reason to fight more aggressively since they are more powerful than the enemy. As mentioned before, if players have a strong weapon, then the ten seconds feel much longer.

7 Vendetta

This is probably one of the most important weapon mods in Cyberpunk 2077 for many reasons, but the most valuable aspect is that the headshot damage.Cyberpunk 2077 makes a point for players to focus on getting headshots because they do a lot of damage and render many enemies one-shot kill. This makes gun play rather easy because now players can aim for the head and will have a guarantee massive damage, plus it enhances many aspects of weapons that have headshot bonus because of the damage boost will stack on top of the base perks that are already on the gun.

If players build a character that specializes in the sniper area of the game, then shooting from a distance becomes rather fluid because of the 20 % headshot damage it gives. This mod doesn’t just make snipers powerful but other weapons as well, however it’s smarter for players to use it on pistol as well because at close range headshots count more and can players the edge over the enemy and when the damage stacks players become unstoppable.

6 Kunai

Melee weapons use quite a bit of stamina, some more than others. So if players use them the most, they have another element to manage. However, by adding the Kunai mod to any of the melee weapons, players will have an easier time with that. It’s worth it for players to have this mod on especially if the melee weapon they have has an effect on it. For example, if players use the Kunai mod with the Stinger, which deals poison damage, players will be landing most of the blows. This allows the effect to stack and in turn, makes the enemy lose more health.

Additionally, if players use it with the Mantis Blade, which can drain mana much quicker than other melee weapons, then having the Kunai mod makes it work better. Paring this mod with one other like Cold Shoulder or White Knuckled can make players unstoppable. Because those two mods focus on damage, but if players are able to hit often without running out of steam, then using melee weapons becomes fun.

5 Pulverize

This is one of the most interesting mods, but players will have to spend time with this mode in order to fully understand it. This does make combat a lot of more diverse in Cyberpunk 2077. Rather than focusing on hitting one part of the enemy, players can shoot at the limbs which will do more damage over time. This is good for players who want to do crowd control and will make the status effect of certain weapons better.

Adding in some of the better pistols in Cyberpunk 2077 because this mod works well at medium to close range for immediate damage and does stack. It also allows players to target different enemies because it’s doing damage to the previous target that the enemy was shooting at, so it gives players a chance to dictate the course of the fire fight. The best part that is underrated is that is gives 5% damage to each limb so if players focus fire on one limb, it stacks. Spreading around the fire will stack on the designated spots, so players who have this mod equipped will have an easier time going up against boss’s or even enemies that are higher than them because that stacking effect it has.

4 White Knuckled

The best part about Cyberpunk 2077, is that the game allows players to play and fight their own way. This gives them a chance to try out other means of taking down enemies outside of using a gun. One of the better offensive traits that V can have is by going all-in for the cyberware. Specifically, the Mantis Blades, which come out of the player’s forearm, and can be upgraded. While they are rather strong on their own, at the start against lower levels they are great, but as players progress, they’ll face issues.

The Cold Shoulder mod is great if players have access to it, however, White Knuckled is a great alternative and does about the same damage as its counterpart. Just like Cold Shoulder, this mod can stack by 7 percent, and adding that up, enemies will go down with ease. The melee mods are probably the better choice since the Mantis Blades alone are one of the stronger weapons. Having either White Knuckled or Cold Shoulder on will ultimately make players a killing machine.

3 Cold Shoulder

Another cool aspect of the combat is that players don’t necessarily have to rely on guns alone, they can use melee weapons as well. This opens up new elements in gameplay, because now players can lean into the stealth aspect rather than going in gun blazing. However, while the melee weapons offer something different for players, they still require time to get used to the stamina.Players will go through lower levels quickly, so as they level up, so does the stamina.

Since it takes a while for players to get to that level, mods can loosen up the pressure, specifically the Kunai mod which increases melee attack speed by 0.3. While that may not seem like a lot, it can make attacks more frequent and help players get out of action quickly. Paring with some of the best melee weapons that are in Cyberpunk 2077, this mod can make things a lot easier and can make players feel like they’re doing more damage. Which is true because it allows for more attacks and if players have leveled up the stamina, that means even more attacks with no need of using a gun.

2 Pax

This is an interesting mod that many players may not go after because of its main attribute, which is that if equipped with any weapon, it makes the weapon non-lethal, while still doing damage. This may pull players away, but if they’re playing more creatively this mod works. Players who are doing challenges like killing no enemies should take this mod while they can. While it doesn’t kill enemies, it certainly hurts them increasing the damage by 6.

So it’s a good trade-off for players to have. On top of that, players wouldn’t need to change their fighting style much, because the enemies will still be alive, they’ll be too stunned to do anything. This allows players to get away and save up on ammo. Cyberpunk 2077 uses many ways for players to get through missions, and some of them allow players to take a less violent approach. The Pax mod allows players to do just that, all while still being aggressive.

1 Crunch

The best way for this mod to work and stand out the most in Cyberpunk 2077 is that if players have the “Easy Out” perk, which increases damage of range weapons by 10 % at level one, and 20 % at level two. The Crunch mod can make this perk even better because the Crunch mod alone gives 8 damage, but when it’s accompanied by the “Easy Out” perk, the damage becomes even more and going through enemies gets even less difficult for players.

However, like the rest of the mods featured in this list, players should level up because that’s where the mod shines. However, it still becomes night and day for players starting out because of how much damage the “Easy Out” does at its base. The more players that use this mod as they level up, the more damage it outputs. This mod works out well for all aspects of the player’s weapon because it can complement the damage to lower leveled weapons. But while it works well with certain perks, it is not a necessity for the mod.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, and Stadia.
