In a meeting with Dualshockers, Pete Hines revealed that it is currently a hectic time at Bethesda, as the studio continues to prepare for E3. However, he feels very confident and excited about what is in store for players, emphasizing that Bethesda’s E3 lineup is diverse and will appeal to many gamers.
I think we have a lot of stuff that folks are going to like. To my earlier comment, it’s going to be a big mix of stuff that’s all over the place. It’s not going to be like all [one] kind of game or genre. It’s going to be a lot of stuff in a lot of different areas and hopefully, there’s something in there for everybody.”
The remark about the lineup being “all over the place” could be telling that the presentation won’t feature one focused reveal. Hines has previously been noted saying that there are two big games in production before Elder Scrolls 6, but whether or not these two games are included in the “big mix” for E3 is unconfirmed.
On the other hand, it’s no secret Bethesda has been branching out across consoles with Skyrim coming to the Switch and so the next step could be a new mobile Elder Scrolls game. Not only that, with such an intense focus on VR for Skyrim, Fallout, and Doom, it’s also possible that Bethesda may be focusing on bringing VR to its other games.
Pete Hines isn’t the only one at Bethesda talking, as director Todd Howard recently revealed that a new animation engine is in use for a project in pre-production. Whether or not players can expect this to be showcased at E3 is a very tightly held secret, but at least the higher-ups are promising some exciting showcases for E3.
