Around midnight there was an explosion along Bhutto’s route—according to early reports, from two bombs inside a police car. Bhutto was not wounded, but more than 100 bystanders were killed or injured. She was quickly whisked to the safety of her Karachi residence. It’s unclear who was reponsible for the blasts. According to Pew Research statistics, polarization has continued to worsen during the Biden presidency. While this is certainly not all Biden’s doing, he has more than done his part to widen the divide between Americans. The poll, which was conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies, found Biden leading Trump in Arizona, Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. According to the poll, Biden’s largest lead comes in Michigan, as 50 percent of respondents said they’d vote for the former vice president on the November 3 election, while 38 percent sided with Trump. In Michigan, the poll surveyed 812 likely voters in Michigan from August 16 to August 19 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3....

Wisconsin is considered a must-win state for Trump. Although Wisconsin had consistently voted for Democratic presidential candidates since 1988, Trump pulled out a victory in the state during his first presidential campaign. In 2016, Trump carried the state by less than 1 percentage point. Both Trump and Biden have visited Wisconsin since the shooting of Jacob Blake in August by police officers in the city of Kenosha. If the election were held today, a majority of Wisconsin’s likely voters would cast their ballots for Biden....

The release comes after a controversial vote by the House Ways and Means Committee earlier this month, in which the committee voted to make Trump’s federal tax returns public. Trump refused to voluntarily release the federal returns during his campaign and his presidency, citing an ongoing Internal Revenue Service (IRS) audit. But the IRS didn’t audit Trump until 2019 when Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal, a Democrat, requested the returns....

“Building a massive wall that spans the entire southern border and costs American taxpayers billions of dollars is not a serious policy solution or responsible use of federal funds,” the Office of Management and Budget said in a statement.
